Helium weather balloon launched in Karunya University, Coimbatore, India as part of Mindkraft2k16

Helium Weather balloon launched on March 3rd, 7:00am. As part of Mindkraft2k16 in Karunya University, Coimbatore

This project is one of the fourth successfully launched and tracked Helium weather balloon in Tamil nadu and first in Coimbatore region. It is one of the cheapest too, costing almost Rs18,000 for only making and testing, and made totally in-house. And the specialty is we had predicted the crashing site, one week prior to launch, which is one of kind in India, and recorded metrological data and had reached a height of 33km(120,000 feet) and had traveled approximately 65km.

Therefore, we have designed a radiosonde module with negligible risk of failure and cost effectiveness. We also use this module to measure and log the metrological data like the pressure, temperature, humidity, altitude and capture a picture of a particular locality.

Thus our project is very useful for proving the lapse rate concept and observing high altitude weather data which is essential for predicting natural disasters and to understand and analyze the climatological and weather details of a particular region, thereby it plays a major role in determining the agricultural pattern .Moreover by knowing the wind speed and its flow of direction, the implementation of renewable energy resources like the wind mills etc. can be successfully done at the right areas.

Traits of Successful Investors

Everyone knows that to succeed as an investor or trader you must buy low and sell high. As simple as this concept is, the actual act of doing so is almost impossible. That is unless you are prepared (i.e. pre-programmed) to buy at low prices, or to sell at irrationally high prices. Behaviorists suggest that we are pre-wired to avoid pain and to pursue pleasure. Unfortunately, these instincts can work against you in the financial markets. It’s painful and unpleasant when prices are low and declining even further. It’s euphoric when markets are climbing beyond rational levels of value. The following 10 traits of successful investors may help improve your odds whenever the urge to buy or sell occurs.   Trait #1. The ability to buy stocks when everyone else is panicking, and sell stocks while others are overly optimistic. Mark Sellers told a graduating class of Harvard MBA’s that the ability to succeed as an investor has nothing to do with I.Q. or education.  ...
